Apprentice Opportunities

Earth Aesthetics is opening up to two apprentice positions for reliable, respectful individuals interested in deepening their understanding of landscape care, plant health, and garden stewardship.

This is an entry-level opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, pays attention to detail, and wants to learn through hands-on experience. Advanced horticultural knowledge is not required — strong observation, consistency, care, and a willingness to learn are most beneficial.

Earth Aesthetics is a landscape curation and horticultural stewardship company based in Long Creek, South Carolina. Our work is rooted in thoughtful care, respect for our environment, and long-term stewardship.

We are not a mow-blow-go landscaping company. We move carefully, observe before acting, and treat gardens as living spaces that deserve patience, respect, and intention.

About the Position

Apprentices will support Earth Aesthetics in the field while learning our approach to garden care and landscape stewardship.

Work may include garden bed care, weeding, mulching, watering, planting support, seasonal cleanup, debris removal, tool cleanup, blower use, and assisting with plant care or specialty tasks under direction.

Apprentices are not expected to make advanced horticultural decisions independently. Training and direction will be provided.

What to Expect

This is physical outdoor work. Days may include heat, cold, rain, mud, insects, hills, lifting, bending, hauling, kneeling, and repetitive movement. Some days may be manually intensive while others are quite simple and slower paced.

Employees are expected to arrive prepared with weather-appropriate clothing, closed-toe shoes, work gloves, food, water, and sun protection.

Workdays are set, but the exact client schedule may vary based on weather, seasonal needs, and property priorities. Apprentices may meet at Earth Aesthetics headquarters in Long Creek, South Carolina, or at a designated meeting location on the way to the job site.

What You May Learn

Apprentices may have the opportunity to learn basic plant care, garden maintenance standards, design, seasonal timing, soil-conscious practices, corrective pruning principles, plant health observation, pest and disease awareness, client property etiquette, tool care, and the Earth Aesthetics approach to stewardship.

The apprenticeship is intended to provide a foundation for continued growth within Earth Aesthetics. The right apprentice may progress into a long-term Crew Member position and, with demonstrated knowledge, reliability, judgment, and leadership, eventually into a Crew Leader role.

Growth & Pay

Apprentice — Starting at $17/hour
A learning-focused position working under direction while developing practical landscape and horticultural skills.

Apprentices will receive a progress review at approximately 90 days to discuss skill development, reliability, quality of work, growing independence, and areas for continued training. A review does not automatically guarantee a raise or promotion but provides an opportunity to recognize demonstrated growth.

Crew Member — Approximately $19–$22/hour
Crew Members are able to complete familiar Earth Aesthetics tasks with increasing independence, understand our care standards, recognize common landscape needs, and take responsibility for the quality of their work.

Crew Leader — Approximately $23–$27/hour
Crew Leaders are trusted to help guide work on-site, communicate priorities, support and direct other crew members, recognize when additional guidance is needed, and uphold Earth Aesthetics standards when working more independently.

Advancement is based on demonstrated ability, reliability, observation, judgment, communication, and quality of work rather than simply time employed.
